Outpatient Collector

Description:

Responsible for A/R, and mail follow-up on amounts due from Payor’s, and third-party’s on a timely basis in accordance with CBO policies for facilities assigned. Responsibility for timely collections and third-party follow-up. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. This is a non-exempt position.

Must-have:

• LTACH - long term care collections
• 2 years or more of hospital business office experience with proven collection success.
• OUTPATIENT collections on the payer side (not patient side) - Hospital side
• Education and Training: High School diploma required; one to two years of college preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Overall knowledge of AR Health Care business procedures.

• General knowledge of Third Party payors, collection laws, FTC rulings and collection procedures.

• Experience with automated patient accounting systems and automated collection system.

• Type 50 wpm.

• Operate personal computer, 10-key.

Work Environment:

The position is on-site in office M-F 830am-5pm, attendance and reliability is a MUST.
