Position Summary:

The Senior Loan Processor oversees the origination and assembly of loan packages for manufactured homes and park model products. They manage loan processing from application to closing/funding, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of any issues. Additionally, they manage loan servicing activities, including delinquencies, escrow analysis, customer inquiries, and financial reporting.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

  • Hire, train, onboard, and manage any employees of MHC Finance
  • Train any new Sales Associates in a timely manner regarding loan applications, etc.
  • Attend and participate in weekly EOS meetings
  • Resolve any issues between Sales team and MHC Finance in a timely manner.
  • Have full understanding of the Mortgage Automator software and stay current on any future upgrades
  • Insure Smartsheet UDW Pipeline is updated daily to assure accurate metrics
  • Assemble monthly reporting package from Mortgage Automator
  • Responsible for cross-training so there is no drop-off in productivity if Mortgage Loan Processing Manager is unavailable.
  • Responsible for attaining Corporate established metrics (e.g., loan decision within 1 day, closing a loan within so many days, etc.)
  • Stay abreast of any legislation or regulations related to loan origination and servicing for both MH and PM product loans.
  • Complete special projects as needed

Responsible for origination and assembling loan packages for manufactured homes and park model products.

  • Work with customers from the application process through to the loan closing/funding process. Review loan package for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect and validate all borrower information. Monitor each loan to obtain the information timely.
  • Pull credit report and calculate DTI ratio. Determine if borrower is approved/not approved for loan. If not approved, strategize with Sales Manager if there is an alternative (e.g., additional down payment, lower price point home, etc.) to save the deal.
  • Coordinate with Sales Manager/Associate the completed loan package and verify borrower signs all documents.
  • Send original loan package to Corporate Headquarters for safekeeping
  • Send request for funding of loan

Responsible for management of the servicing of loans in Mortgage Automator.

  • Manage delinquent loan receivables
  • Analysis and payment of Escrow related expenses (taxes and insurance)
  • Send out monthly statements.
  • Respond to Customer requests in a timely manner regarding their loan
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting regarding accounting related matters (e.g., verify funds transferred from operating to escrow accounts, monthly principal and interest transferred from MHC operating account, etc.)
  • Distribute year-end Form 1098’s to each borrower
Requirements:

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  1. Leadership: Ability to hire, train, and manage employees effectively, fostering a cohesive and productive team environment.
  2. Loan Processing Expertise: Proficiency in loan origination, documentation, and packaging, including reviewing loan packages for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of legislation and regulations related to loan origination and servicing, ensuring compliance at all times.
  4. Software Proficiency: Full understanding of Mortgage Automator software and ability to stay current with upgrades, along with proficiency in Smartsheet for pipeline management.
  5. Communication Skills: Effective communication with sales teams, borrowers, corporate headquarters, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth loan processing and servicing.
  6. Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues between sales teams and finance department promptly and strategically.
  7. Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage loan processing workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet corporate-established metrics.
  8. Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze financial data, manage loan receivables, and collaborate with corporate accounting for financial reporting and reconciliation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license or willingness to obtain required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mortgage loan processing and servicing, preferably in the manufactured home or real estate industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing loan origination and servicing processes, including familiarity with loan documentation, credit analysis, and funding procedures.
  • Experience in staff management, training, and development.
  • Familiarity with loan servicing software such as Mortgage Automator is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in mortgage lending.

  • Constantly sit, talk, or hear; Frequently use hands.
  • Manual dexterity for handling paperwork and using office equipment.
  • Clear vision and hearing for reviewing documents and communicating effectively.
  • Capability to lift up to 10 pounds.
