Job Description
Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of human resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Generalist contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture which emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of the hospital’s workforce. Within this role, the Human Resources Generalist carries out responsibilities in some and/or all the following functional areas: departmental development, recruitment and retention, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and other HR duties as assigned. The Human Resources Generalist aids with the implementation of Human Resources services, policies, processes and programs, reports to the Human Resources Manager, and assists hospital managers, leadership, and employees with HR related issues.
The Human Resources Generalist serves as the Document Control Coordinator in providing document control functions for the hospital through the administration of the hospital’s document management software. On occasion the Human Resources Generalist may be requested to provide backup services for the Executive Assistant and Payroll Specialist.

- Associates Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Current SHRM-CP or PHR certification or obtained within one year of hire date.
- Three to five years business, administrative experience.
- Minimum of one-year experience in Human Resources required.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills including WORD, Excel, and Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Skills in database management and record keeping.
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
