We are hiring a PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER Full time (40 hours per week) for our Behavioral Health Program with Monsignor Carr Institute for our Clients across our WNY Area Clinics .

JOB SUMMARY: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NPP) is responsible for evaluating,
diagnosing and treating an assigned caseload of behavioral health clients, including medication
prescribing and administration in some cases, and for documenting in the electronic medical record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation of referred clients at assigned clinics;
  • Provide ongoing medication education management/assessment for assigned clients;
  • Complete all progress notes related to assigned clients within 24 hours of activity;
  • Document all client encounters, risk concerns and critical incidents in the medical record,
    consistent with Agency, State, and Council on Accreditation (COA) standards;
  • Provide consultation and psycho-education to families and collateral others;
  • Promptly complete documented (via signature/notation) reviews of psychosocial
    assessments, treatment plans, diagnosis updates and disability evaluations for all clients in
    compliance with OMH and insurance regulations to ensure appropriate reimbursement for
    services;
  • Provide consultation with respect to the treatment services provided by clinic social
    work/mental health clinicians;
  • In collaboration with other personnel and physicians, respond to and resolve service, access,
    and provider concerns/issues;
  • Collaborate and consult with other service providers and MCOs as necessary (e.g. inpatient
    psychiatrists, primary care providers, NPs, and other licensed clinicians);
  • Arrange for and/or provide coverage of clients as necessary;
  • Attend applicable clinical review and case consultation meetings.
  • Know and exemplify Catholic Charities' program mission, vision, guiding principles,
    policies and procedures;
  • Deliver culturally-sensitive, person-centered services with high ethical standards,
    regulations, and compliance consistent with Catholic Charities, OMH, Managed Care
  • Organizations, and other applicable oversight agencies' policies and procedures;
  • Comply with the Agency's Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, laws, regulations, and
    ethical standards applicable to job duties;
  • Adhere to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to
    those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards;
  • Follow all laws and best practice recommendations regarding prescribing and other
    treatment methodologies.
  • All duties must be performed in accordance with CCB's corporate compliance and ethics
    program;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Nurse Practitioner with license to practice medicine in New York State with focus
in psychiatric treatment. Suboxone or "X"-waiver preferred and encouraged to obtain upon hire to
ensure comprehensive treatment of dual-diagnosis patients.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3600 hours of experience in the direct assessment and treatment of
psychiatric disorders. Experience working with dual-diagnosis individuals including those with
substance abuse and/or other morbidity diagnoses is preferred. Licensed NPP status with 3600+
hours of clinical work required. MD collaboration may be available for those with less than 3600
hours based on other combination of experience and skill, at the discretion of the Medical Director
and/or Senior Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders children and adults;
  • Strong knowledge of medical conditions, medications, and medication interactions;
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) required, including ability to provide services
    via telehealth as needed;
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and maintain effective working
    relationships;
  • Demonstrated agility, proficiency, initiative, ability to work independently and efficiently
    (effective organizational, time management skills), execute business policies and
    procedures, and produce results, including prioritized documentation and timely submission
    of billing requirements and reports;
  • Fluent in multiple and simultaneous computer and office systems (e.g. Word, Excel, fax,
    scan, email, phones,), including but not limited to electronic health records and telemedicine
    platforms (we currently use Doxy.Me); Experience with 10e11 eCR preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires travel to provide in-person services at various clinics as needed.
  • Evenings may be required to accommodate client needs during clinic operating hours.
