Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing production training programs and activities. This position will work closely with HR, Operations and other departments to effectively establish and execute training requirements for the various work groups. This position will be responsible for coaching and mentoring both new and current employees, including but not limited to operators, welders, and lead ops. This position will be hands-on, working directly with production parts and equipment, sometimes stepping in to run on operation for the purpose of training and/or to meet production needs.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Requirements for the position include a High School Diploma or Equivalent, 2+ years of relevant experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are also required for success
- Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math
- Prior experience with Continuous Performance Improvement and Lean Manufacturing training/techniques a plus
- Knowledge of both Final Assembly and PreFab processes

Responsibilities:
- Evaluating training needs for all associates based on feedback from management, individual associates, quality/environmental system requirements and customer requirements
- Identify training gaps and work with HR team to develop plan to address
- Advise associates of available training opportunities
- Work with department managers to schedule training sessions
- Lead production aspects of M.O.M. new employee orientation
- Ongoing use and continuous improvement of hands-on training centers
- Complete operator training level certifications
- Ensure compliance with training certification requirements
- Ensure a suitable, comfortable environment for training
- Develop, record and retain records of training performed
- Assist and/or lead team building or other instructor-led trainings
- Drive continuous improvement of production training programs and cross-training
- Support improvement of M.O.M new employee orientation
- Assist with determining placement for new hires
- Coach & mentor lead ops and other production employees
- Oversee and actively participate in on-the-job (OTJ) training, spending one-on-one time with operators as needed
- Promote & maintain 5S
- Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and adherence to JSAs (Job Safety Analyses)
- Conduct monthly job-work instruction sign off sheet audit to verify that HR-TRN-001 is present and completed properly, notifying lead ops of gaps. Repeat findings should be escalated to Supervisors, BU Managers and HR manager if not resolved.
Working Conditions
- 20% office, 80% plant
- Possible local as well as out-of-state travel may be required
