Job Description
Job Title: Language Arts Grade 5 Teacher
Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Upper Elementary School Principal
Start Date: August 2024, Following School Calendar
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and Christian values
- Teach Language Arts concepts effectively, including reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and vocabulary
- Foster a Christ-like classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and are able to reach their full potential
- Incorporate biblical principles and Christian worldview into daily instruction and classroom discussions
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth
- Eager to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to enhance the overall educational experience and support student success
- Willingness to be creative and innovative in trying new teaching approaches with students
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality that elicits joy and positivity with students, staff, and parents
- Willing to be responsible for other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
- Current ODE teaching licensure
- Prior teaching experience, preferably in grade 4-6 school settings
- Strong knowledge of Ohio language arts curriculum standards and instructional best practices
