POSITION TITLE: Summer Food Program Delivery Driver
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth and Family Programs Manager
HOURS: 15-20 hours per week
DATES OF POSITION: June 17, 2024 – August 23, 2024
SALARY: $18.00/hour
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is a part-time seasonal, temporary position. Must be 18 years of age or older.
The FOOD for Lane County (FFLC) Summer Food Service Program provides youth with nutritious meals where school meals are not available in the summer. This position will work alongside FFLC coworkers and community partners to transport meals to several summer meal sites. After meal service concludes, the driver collects all equipment, paperwork, and leftover food and returns to the kitchen. In our effort to minimize food waste, this position will help transport food donations to various community partners. This position will also serve as a Site Supervisor when needed and assist with meal preparation as needed.
PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for transporting meals to several summer meal sites
- Responsible for transporting donated food items to community partners
- Assist with the flow of meal distribution by delivering last minute items to Site Supervisors as needed
- Serve as a Site Supervisor when needed
- Assists with meal preparation as needed
- Works in collaboration with coworkers and community partners to create a positive and safe environment
- Completes and turns in all paperwork on time
- Reports customer service issues to the Program Manager and/or Summer Food Program Assistant
- Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor
- Upholds FFLC’s values of compassion, inclusion, and collaboration
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to be prompt and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to obtain a current Food Handler’s
- Safe Driving record, valid Oregon driver's license, reliable transportation, and comply with FFLC's insurance carrier's requirements to drive a company vehicle
- Ability to drive a box truck
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds
