Youth Prevention Specialist - Full Time

The Coalition Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and supervising the activities, trainings, and technical assistance for the youth-run Ellenville Wawarsing Prevention Coalition in Ulster County. The role includes coordinating and facilitating training sessions tailored to enhance the coalition’s objectives and overseeing the promotion and execution of community events in collaboration with consortium partners. This position requires managing the creation of monthly update reports to maintain stakeholders informed about the coalition’s progress.

The Coordinator will work closely with project staff to support robust data collection, tracking, and monitoring efforts, ensuring that the project adheres to its timeline and achieves its intended impacts. This involves conducting periodic reviews of project progress. Additionally, the role supports the dissemination of findings post-evaluation, helping to communicate the outcomes and learnings to a broader audience. This position demands strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of managing community-oriented projects effectively.

1. Host Youth Run Prevention Coalition

• Coordinate the meeting schedule and track attendance
• Engage with community stakeholders and students to encourage participation

2. Data Collection

• Identify relevant data points to be collected and analyzed
• Analyze data to monitor program progress and identify needed adjustments to programs

3. Project Management

• Ability to organize execute pre-determined grant activities and timelines
• Understand grant reporting requirements and restrictions in order to meet demands of grant funders

4. Reporting

• Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data
• Proficiency in using data management tools and software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, addiction sciences or related field
• Master’s degree preferred

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Teaching and/or customer service experience
• Excellent oral communication skills, both in small group meetings and in large meetings, including the ability to prepare and present effective and compelling presentations
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including stakeholders and network members
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to respond to requests in a timely fashion and provide accurate and consistent information
