Position: Legal Assistant

Location: Downtown Baton Rouge, LA ONSITE

Comp: 48-60k

Strategic Business Consulting Services has partnered with a firm that is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work closely with our legal team to provide administrative and clerical support, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our legal department.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist lawyers with preparing and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and briefs

- Conduct legal research and provide summaries and analysis to support case preparation

- Maintain and organize legal files and documents, both electronic and physical

- Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and court appearances for lawyers

- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in legal cases

- Draft correspondence and assist with drafting legal documents

- Assist with document production and discovery requests

- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies

- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing calendars

- Keep track of important deadlines and ensure all necessary documents are filed in a timely manner

- Other duties as assigned by the legal team

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal

- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively

- Experience in a consulting or law firm is a plus
