Tool Room Machinist

MTH Pumps of Plano, IL is seeking to hire a full-time Tool Room Machinist to join the Tool Room at a state of the art pump manufacturing company. The Tool Room Machinist position offers a competitive starting wage of $25 - $40 per hour (based on experience), a $1 increase after 90 days, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment plan, and we offer medical and dental insurance. Work hours are 7 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A TOOL ROOM MACHINIST

A tool room machinist is responsible for machining parts for new pump products being developed, as well as building production tooling and fixtures as needed. Another task that falls to the tool room is repairing or modifying existing tools, gages, or fixtures used in production. Lastly the tool room helps prepare and finish aluminum wax molds for investment casting in our foundry.

A successful Tool Room Machinist will have strong communication skills. They work with several departments regularly and move from task to task. From the manufacturing department that needs help solving a difficult machining process to making emergency parts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma with completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience
• Working knowledge of Machining processes, tools, cutters & inserts and grinding them,
• Manual Machining skills for both lathes and mills,
• Blueprint reading and Ability to machine parts according to drawings or sketches provided,
• Use of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.),
• Basic NC Programming a plus
