Job Description
SUMMARY
The cost account will assist the controller with inventory control, month end closing, audits, and other tasks as needed. Works with production to analyze, develop, and maintain product costing, labor rates, and overhead rates. Must possess strong analytical skills and be a self-starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs monthly closing activities including preparation of journal entries
- Prepares and completes balance sheet account reconciliations and roll-forward analysis
- Assists in implementing SOX controls and in SOX compliance audits
- Maintains supporting documentation as part of SOX requirements
- Collect and analyze data from the ERP system and other sources to determine costs of business activities such as manufactured products and goods, labor and overheads
- Monitor inventory transactions and processes
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs
- Management of company’s fixed assets
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Assist with payroll processing
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Other duties as assigned.
· Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
· Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced excel skills necessary.
· 3-5 years of manufacturing experience and/or training strongly preferred.
· Strong financial analysis skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
· Well-organized with ability to prioritize tasks
