Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner's objective is to support a comprehensive, community based, family centered primary care program. The overall program will be designed to:

• Improve access to a comprehensive range of high-quality primary care services.
• Improve health outcomes through an integrated delivery model focusing on prevention and health maintenance, health education, and evidence based chronic disease management.

In addition, this position requires:

A. Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner program.

B. Licensure and Certification:

i. Active South Carolina medical license.

ii. Certified or eligible for certification in area of specialty.

C. Skills and Abilities:

i. Demonstrated clinical skill.

ii. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

iii. Critical thinking, problem solving, and consensus building skills.

iv. Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality.

v. Ability to coordinate, analyzes, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

D. Physical Demands and Work Environment Considerations:

i. While performing the responsibilities of a staff Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner, the employee is required to talk and hear in order to communicate with others.

ii. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.

iii. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

iv. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision with moderate exposure to a computer screen.

v. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

vi. Moderate to regular exposure to blood borne pathogens.

vii. Requirement for out-of-town and/or overnight travel is minimal.
