Description:
The Dental Care Coordinator performs a variety of tasks directly related to the greeting, checking in and scheduling of patient care. The patient visit experience will begin and perhaps end with the Dental Care Coordinator. The efficiency and productivity of the Dental team can be directly related to this position. Professionalism, accuracy and friendliness are of the utmost importance.
*The position is open to both of our Cloquet and Hermantown locations*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to inbound patient calls, via phone or email
- Responsible for greeting and assisting patients the moment they enter a dental office
- Maintain, update, and verify patient demographics
- Scheduling and setting up new patient accounts
- Responsible for preparing daily financial estimates and informing patients
- Daily, weekly, monthly reports including audits, recall, finances, etc.
- Make appointments and confirm patient appointments by phone or electronic media
- Maintain appropriate schedule balance for Doctors, ADTs and Hygienists as well as fill short notice openings
- Maintain, update, and verify patient demographics
- Verify patient insurance qualifications
- Patient checkout - collect and post balances and copays, apply appropriate tax, review ledger postings, schedule follow up appointments, provide treatment plans
- Correspondence with all Dental specialists (referrals)
- Verify patient insurance qualifications to include electronic eligibility for insurance prior to appt
- Other office and administrative duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- A proven ability to communicate healthcare and financial information clearly and be resourceful in arriving at solutions that benefit both the patient and dental practice.
- Able to use a computerized filing system to organize patient records and keep them updated.
- High School Diploma at a minimum
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental office background
- Having a caring, friendly personality and professional appearance
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Fluency in a second language
