Job Summary: Complete, record, follow-up and maintain bid requests received; Act as project coordinator / assistant project manager to begin projects; Take service calls as required.


Responsibilities:

  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets bids and quotes, technical procedures, and governmental (federal, state, & local) document and regulations
  • Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effectively communicates with multi-level personnel as well as vendors and their representatives
  • Calculates figures and amounts such as material & labor and applicable discounts; interprets percentages, margins, and mark-ups
  • Receives and logs bids
  • Verifies specifications or purchase requests
  • Determines if we can respond to bids
  • Computes pricing and pricing margins
  • Prepares bid summary for manager to review and approve prior to release
  • Prepares reports on bid responses
  • Performs service calls as needed
  • Performs other related duties as required
Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman’s card
  • 2-3 years of electrical estimating experience
  • Knowledge of estimating software preferred
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented quality driven, and capable of working without a lot of supervision
  • National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge
  • Ability to read and/or understand electrical diagrams & blueprints
  • Good math skills, including basic algebra
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to physically travel to jobsite to review projects before estimating
  • Ability to perform residential/light commercial service calls as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field desired
  • 5 years of electrical construction or industrial construction experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Good attendance history
