POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for collecting, documenting, and inspecting commercial roofs to assess and build estimates for material, time and labor to include:  blueprint reading, vendor management, creating purchase orders and building permits.  They will serve as the liaison between the business and the customer and solve any questions or issues that could potentially arise.

ESSENTIAL Responsibilities

• Collect all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Study documentation, meet with clients, and inspect the construction site to fully understand what work is required.
• Recommend the most appropriate labor and material resources needed for project completion with applicable cost analysis for multiple avenues of completion.
• Negotiate and build rapport with service providers to obtain adequate pricing.
• Outline work plan to determine length of project to completion.
• Complete risk assessment to account for potential deviations/issues in project plan.
• Ensure profitability of project through analysis of time, scope and resources need.
• Draft proposals that detail material, labor and equipment costs.
• Meet with clients to review plans and address any concerns before project start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience managing multiple jobs simultaneously across multiple states and locations.
• Degree in mechanical engineering, architecture or other related discipline.
• Prior experience using a CRM system

Mandatory Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial roofing estimation
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to climb ladders and roof access points to build project(s).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in office, vehicles, and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during day and night shifts. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations.

Intermittent travel to include overnight travel as needed based on project location.
