North American Trailer is a family-owned Minnesota based company with an opening for a Lead Working Supervisor at our Stanley, ND location. This position will handle the day-to-day supervision of shift operations and technicians and the complete repair and general maintenance of semi-trucks, trailers, as well as all other styles and sizes of tankers. We are looking for someone detail oriented, strong mechanical aptitude, and a strong work ethic.

SCHEDULE: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7am- 5pm

The essential duties include:

· Provide leadership and direction to the technicians

· Evaluate technician’s skillset and provide training as needed.

· Assist technicians in locating parts / job related issues

· Related activities that promote the goals of the Organization.

· Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.

· Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild.

· Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.

· Ensure the final work product meets quality standards

· Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers

· Expectations; Maintain 50% efficiency of billable hours in the shop.

Requirements:

We'd love to have you as part of our team. The ideal candidate would have the following skills:

  • Great work ethic
  • Willingness to jump in and help/assist where needed.
  • Technical aptitude with basic electric diagnostic / troubleshooting experience a plus
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Basic tool set and toolbox to start (assistance programs available)
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
  • Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient, and friendly work environment.
  • Repair and shop operation knowledge with a strong technical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills – both verbally and written
  • Ability to train technicians at varying levels of experience, skillset and learning styles
  • Able to receive feedback on operations from peers, subordinates and manager and respond in a productive and constructive manner with a focus on solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills – knowledge of Karmak, a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask

Our mobile service team comes to our customers with their rolling garages to get them back on the road in a timely manner with the combined nine locations and 27 service trucks.
