We are seeking a skilled Production Set-Up Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines by performing equipment setups, adjustments, and maintenance tasks. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to maximizing efficiency, minimizing downtime, and upholding our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring work practices in the Chemical Hygiene Plan are followed.
  • Responsible for performance of operations in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Responsible for proper storage and adequate supply of change parts.
  • Performs changeover and adjustments to packaging equipment as necessary to achieve scheduling, safety, and quality goals.
  • Set up packaging equipment and ancillary components as necessary to achieve scheduling, safety, and quality goals.
  • As a member of the Production Team, contributes to decisions in the planning and implementation of production schedules.
  • Responsible for compilation and updating of packaging equipment and line layout specifications.
  • Responsible for sanitation of packaging equipment and documentation of such.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping within the immediate area of assigned work.
  • Responsible for maintenance of packaging machines & documentation of such.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and regular inspections of parts and equipment for signs of wear or damage and replacing or repairing to ensure safe operation of industrial equipment and production uptime.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting small and large equipment, making repairs & documenting repairs.
  • Responsible for helping other team members Troubleshoot and repair equipment on production lines.
  • Must be able to read a parts manual and locate part numbers for ordering repair components.
  • Must be able to use operations manual to diagnose failures in equipment.


Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-6 months experience working with mechanical packing equipment (such as fillers, labelers, encoders, cappers, tapers, and conveyor belts) preferred.
  • 2 Years maintenance troubleshooting experience. (Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic repair)


Computer Skills:

  • Willingness to learn/operate manufacturing applications (such as Global Shop Solutions) and/or Microsoft Office products.

  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Keeping a professional attitude.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Working well under pressure & time constraints.
  • Knowledgeable in principles of mechanics and electronics.
