General Information:

Job title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Elroy Family Medical Center - Elroy, WI

Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm (depending on day of week)

Weekend rotation: No Weekends

Holiday rotation: Paid Holidays

Position Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for facilitating practitioner efficiency and quality patient care.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on the application of scientific principles, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Assist in relevant health teaching for patient and family.
  • Share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and nursing care.
  • Participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members.
  • Prepare, administer, and record medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed practical nurse.
  • Perform complex nursing activities as competence increases.
  • Participate in emergency care.
  • Record information concisely, accurately, and completely.
  • Attend scheduled Patient Care Staff Meetings.
  • Conform to Clinic department dress code.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to schedule changes; maintain good work attendance; assist other staff in completion of duties.
  • Document observations, data collection, treatments, etc. in EHR.
  • Seeks opportunity for continued learning.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • LPN license required.
  • BLS within 1 month of hire.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
  • 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
  • Knowledgeable regarding medication administration.
  • Comprehensive nursing skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
