Freight Coordinator
$22.00/Hour
Alsip, IL
1st Shift 7:00am to 3:30pm
Introduction Statement:
We're excited to announce we have an opening for a Freight Coordinator. Located in Alsip, IL, this position is vital to ensuring the efficient and accurate organization of all shipping-related activities. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Freight Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and tracking shipments, managing paperwork, and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders, verifying quantities and ensuring accuracy.
- Process shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, and packing slips.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Track shipments and update relevant stakeholders on delivery status.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Participate in cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
Requirements:
- 2 or more years of experience in a shipping/logistics role
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in SAP and other related software
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Forklift Certification Required, sit-down electric or propane or stand-up electric reach truck.
