Salary:
Accounting Manager
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department’s daily operations. You will work closely with a team of accounting specialists and the Controller to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and daily bank reconciliations. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to reconcile and oversee the daily department responsibilities. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to effectively manage a team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the productivity and performance of the accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and internal controls.
- Oversee and/or perform daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and daily bank reconciliations.
- Participate in Annual Financial and ERISA Audits.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing.
- Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records.
- Provide assistance to Controller to plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operational quality and efficiency of the department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, identify their needs and recommend solutions.
- Provide overall support to the accounting team. Assist with questions and issues involving AR, AP, and payroll
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as an Accounting Manager
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Acumatica, Dynamics SL)
- Project or Cost Accounting experience required.
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, pivot tables and using advanced formulas)
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Team management skills
- Ability to prioritize work
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- Accounting certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is a plus
