Taylor Hospitality has recently acquired Hotel Weyanoke and is currently looking for an Operations Manager. Ideally, you have experience in Hotels and Restaurants. Compensation: $50,000 - $52,000 Base Salary

Role: As the Operations Manager you will be a positive difference maker with our guests and team members. Your responsibilities will be supporting the Rooms, Food and Beverage Departments, and Housekeeping Departments. The Operations Manager will have a strong focus on our Front of the House Food and Beverage Department. 

What will be expected of you:

  • Ensure a Fabulous Experience for Our Guests 
  • Lead Front of House FB Operations 
  • Assist the General Manager and Food and Beverage Director with respective departments 
  • Handle any guest problem or complaint professionally and courteously.
  • Assist in leading the Front Desk and Housekeeping Operations 
  • Interview, screen & hire applicants as needed due to hotel staffing needs. Process new hire paperwork for all hotel team members per HR policies and procedures. 
  • Develop cross-training opportunities for the team members throughout the hotel.
    Handle personnel actions including promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures per HR policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Payroll Department deadlines.
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate to exceed guest expectations.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with the team.
  • Ensure that all brand standards are met and maintained in each department.
  • Interpret company policies and provide a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs and job safety analysis.
  • Responsible for hotel accident prevention programs.
  • Have a sound knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  • Have a working knowledge of the maintenance & operating procedures of all departmental equipment.
  • Other & all duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must love people and be Nice! 
  • Ideally has ample restaurant experience with a knowledge of hotel operations
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Finance or related major preferred or the equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a restaurant and hotel environment.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to clearly articulate ideas to a diverse audience including Guests, team members, Management and vendors.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet hotel needs that include nights, weekends & holidays and be on-call as needed as the hotel operates 24 hours per day, non-stop year long.
  • Must be computer literate and possess a solid command of all Microsoft Office applications & brand systems.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Energetic, self-motivated leader with a strong work ethic required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Applications, and a hotel brand software system.
