Job Summary:
Manufacturing Production Technicians work closely with the Production Technical Supervisor and production employees to support and improve manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and manufacturing processes, performing equipment maintenance, and suggesting updates to work instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot processes, material, or equipment problems and recommend solutions to Production Technical Supervisor
  • Recommend revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and work instructions
  • Develop, procure, or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Conduct time studies and identify areas for process improvements
  • Train production employees on new tooling and manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct routine maintenance on manufacturing and test equipment
  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities
Requirements:

Skills:

  • Follow Production Technical Supervisor direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Able to work in a process-centered team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to efficiently manage time and resources
  • Strong understanding and ability to read prints and schematics
  • Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with SMT equipment a plus
  • Experience with modeling software is preferred


Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years technician experience (preferred)
  • Good eye hand coordination and dexterity due to small parts
  • Ability to travel on occasion


Job Detail of a Manufacturing Engineering Technician:

  • Full time with benefits
  • Day shift Monday through Friday 7AM to 3:30 PM
  • Wage DOE


Essential Functions of a Manufacturing Engineering Technician:

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (when required)
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Use of upper body, arms, and hands throughout the day
  • Lifting 10-20 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching overhead throughout the day to reach materials to move or pickup
  • Normal color vision (due to different colored wires)
  • Able to work regularly with epoxy, glues, sealants
