MCC is currently seeking an HVACR PLANNED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN. This position is responsible for performing any and all tasks related to maintenance agreements. This position reports to the PM Department Manager and will be responsible for various tasks. Some of the responsibilities will be communicating, scheduling, performing maintenance tasks, and assisting in preparing maintenance proposals. This position will remain available 24/7 for any emergency calls even though they may not run service or be on the on call rotation. This position requires working outside the “normal” business hours and at times requires “night shift” working conditions.


This position works on rooftops, ladders, lifts, and various equipment necessary to completing maintenance tasks. This position works around and at times directly handles hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Directly responsible to schedule and perform maintenance and repairs on all types of systems and equipment as stated in maintenance agreements or as instructed by PM Dept. Manager.
  2. Responsible for scheduling other in house trades to perform their tasks associated with agreements through appropriate department heads.
  3. Report directly to PM Dept. Manager any issues related to maintenance agreements or any other issues associated with the workplace.
  4. Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of these essential duties.
  5. Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties.
  6. Drive a vehicle to various job-sites throughout working hours.
  7. Maintain valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  8. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  9. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; working at heights on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, in ditches/excavations, on top of and underneath single story and multi-story building.
  • Must be able to lift (occasionally) low life 85lbs, mid-range lift (occasionally) 10-40lbs., mid-range life (rarely) 40-50lbs.
  • Must be able to walk with 50lbs tools or tool bag.
  • Must be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including standing and/or walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying.
  • Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities.
  • Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner.
  • This position is subject to ergonomic testing

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle and working with and around hazardous and/or flammable materials and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery. This position is

one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating a motor vehicle,

working with and around hazardous and/or flammable materials, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • HVACR experience preferred
  • General knowledge of product specifications and plant safety procedures and practices
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and other employees
  • All employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this position
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
  • A current valid driver’s license is required
