Food Prep Cook

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! • Prepare recipes using the proper measurements needed for condiments and wash dice, and slice fruits and vegetables, and meats, for the variety of meals we prepare for customers
• Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized
• Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene
• Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary
• Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly

Qualifications:

• Must be comfortable handling sharp knives and other kitchen tools when prepping food
• Available to work weekends and holidays, pitching in extra hours whenever needed
• Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English
• We’d prefer it if you have an associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift
