Job Description

Title: Driver

Reports To: Shop Manager

Position Summary:

Drives gasoline or diesel-powered trucks to deliver or pick up materials to or from customers and other various places as directed. Divers also help in the shop as needed during down time, this could include, wash bay and sandblasting duties, equipment tear down, paint prep, and other shop support duties as assigned.

Job Description/Expectations:

Accurately completes and submits all necessary paperwork, such as daily logs, inspection reports, receiving and delivery documents, expense reports, etc.
Deliver and pick up items, with documentation, ensuring accurate capture of what the item/documents is, who requested the transport of the item, who received the item, and obtain proper signature.
Keep assigned vehicles free from damage, in good working condition, and consistently clean. Employee must ensure that the vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical malfunctions that exist.
Manage various products and merchandise responsibly while in the act of loading, unloading or transporting items, ensuring that cargo is properly secured to avoid damage or loss. (FHE policy: everything gets two straps)
Employee must accept responsibility for proper use and maintenance of keys, cellphone, GPS, and other company owned electronic devices.
May work overtime hours as needed, according to department workload.
Maintain and excellent driving record. Class A CDL and Medical card required. Job securement is at the employer's discretion due to nature of and the amount of violations.
Be willing to take over the road assignments as needed and able to do so in a responsible, timely manner per company policies.
Operate vehicles and equipment safely and in a responsible manner.
Respect and maintain relationship of trust required to maintain a high level of security access to offices and property of company without supervision.

Conduct oneself in a professional manner that represents a positive image of FHE.
Must attend work as established by employer without excessive absenteeism.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.


Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:

Compiling, checking and recording information.
Communication proficiency, thoroughness, time management.
Read, write and communicate clearly in English.
Good driving record, current medical card and Class A driver's license
Knowledge of International Shipping and Receiving Rules and regulations
Knowledge of ATF Rules and Regulations regarding handling type 1 explosives and hazardous materials
Environmental Conditions and Work Environment:

Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
This role may, at times, use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, etc.
Tools and Equipment Used:

May be required to operate forklift to maneuver parts at times, operate overhead crane, sanders, various welding equipment and tools, grinders, generators, wrenches, common hand, and power tools.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, coordination, and dexterity, sitting, walking, stooping and handling materials.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50-75 pounds or more without physical restrictions.
Climbing on trailers to secure loads
Employees are regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection daily.
