Job Description: Coating Mix Specialist

1st Shift: 6:00am - 4:00pm (Monday thru Friday)

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

As a Coating Mix Specialist at Southeastern Paperboard, Inc., you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining all aspects of coating preparation, inventory as well as associated documents and procedures.

Responsibilities include the following:

· Receiving and inbounding coating. Creating inventory labels for new coating with matching HMIS and adding to inventory.

· COA verification and tracking. Testing and verification of coating and COA parameters.

· Examine job orders to determine quantities to be coated, colors, or special coating instructions.

· Preparation and mixing of all coatings within guidelines used in coating work center processes.

· Maintain and manage associated documentation such as mix logs, usage worksheets, coating billing and inventory.

· Manage coating inventory rotation FIFO

· Communicate and provide reporting and appropriate documentation to purchasing and sales.

· Be able to investigate and report coating concerns to management.

· Be able to communicate and interact with suppliers.

· Able to develop and improve program processes.

· Learn and work as a backup team member at work center coating processes.

· Operate in a safe and productive manner.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years previous coating process experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in rod coating operations or wide printing presses preferred.
  • Previous operation experience in a paper converting environment preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment which is hot in the summer months and comfortable during cooler weather.
  • Must be able to lift between 50 to 75 lbs, repetitively without any assistance.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, reach overhead, twist and bend regularly to complete job tasks.
  • Must be mathematically inclined and know how to convert fractions and measurements.
  • Must be computer literate and efficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to achieve production output in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude is required.
