Cook - Full Time, Day

Position: Cook

Department: Food Service

Location: Northwood Meadows, Cass City, MI

Hours: Full Time. Days. Full Benefits.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide the best dietary service to our residents. Will be preparing tasty, nutritious meals to our residents for every meal. Our goal is to give our residents a place to live where they are well taken care of and are treated like family. We are looking forward to meeting you and showing you our facility.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate well with residents, their family members and other staff.
• Must be mature, friendly and enjoy working with people.
• Neat in appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Must be ServSafe certified or willing to take course/exam.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the day-to-day operations of the Culinary Department and contributing to the continuous improvement of the organization.
• Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program and safety standards.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures for residents, guests, and special events, etc.
• Review menus prior to preparation of food and prepare palatable and appetizing meals in accordance with the planned menus.
• Ensure that meals are served on a timely basis and in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Know, understand, and prepare normal and modified therapeutic diets for in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Assist the Culinary Coordinator in maintaining a file of standardized recipes for the community.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to residents' desires, comfort, and privacy. Maintain confidentiality of residents.
• Always ensuring the security and safety of the residents.
