DRMP is looking for several Entry-Level personnel with no experience necessary to join our Geospatial Division and be trained on the job to be a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician (Utility Locator).


Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Truck Operator for truck and/or trailer mounted air-vacuum excavation systems.
  • Operate vacuum excavation equipment, concrete saw, pneumatic pavement breaker, pneumatic tamp/compactor, and other related tools or “hand dig” in order to verify the characteristics of buried utility pipes, cables, and ducts.
  • Perform accurate measurements with precision using various methods including laser calipers, cloth and steel tapes, EDM’s, etc. 
  • Provide underground utility flagging “designation” utilizing ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic induction equipment, and other geophysical methods.
  • Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect excavation of a site.
  • Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites.
  • Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters.
  • Perform basic survey data collection for utility designations and locations.

What you'll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/GED preferred
  • Basic computer skills and capacity to learn and understand new software
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Commercial Driver License (CDL) credentials a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed 
  • Experience in performing geophysical designating techniques is a plus but not necessary for entry-level
  • Experience in utility construction or related field is a plus but not necessary for entry-level
