The main role/responsibilities of the Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 will be to ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills, strong technical skills and a commitment to deliver excellent repair service in an expedient manner.
The ideal Biomedical Equipment Technician II should have:
Experience in OR/Cathlab and/or sterilizer strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
The ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills.

UNIT DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a BMET II for an opportunity at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. This is a 267 bed Level 1 trauma centre and teaching hospital located in rural northern Pennsylvania. Robert Packer Hospital is part of The Guthrie Clinic that provides care throughout the central part of both New York State and Pennsylvania. They are rapidly expanding the integration of medical equipment into their EMR system and have been recognized nationally as a technology integration leader. Applicants will be joining an experienced team of biomeds and imaging specialists that provide support to The Guthrie Clinic's medical and imaging equipment requiring occasional travel between multiple sites. Experience in the operating room, sterilizer, or laboratory equipment is a plus.
Position Summary
Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, maintains and calibrates a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.

Key Duties
Inspect, maintain, repair and calibrate equipment and systems.
Ensures regulatory compliance.
Provides advanced support of equipment for direct patient care.
Interacts on a routine basis with clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solutions.
Solves organization-level customer service issues and complaints.
Preparing required documentation and reports.
Demonstrates a safety mindset.
Financial responsibility for purchasing parts and service.
Develops staff by teaching and mentoring others.

Basic Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment.
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting.
