I. Job Summary

Responsible for the safety of employees and creating a work environment that supports the Company’s mission of providing a wonderful experience for our customers. The Production Manager is an advocate of Park’s culture and its values and is responsible for communicating the company’s culture and values to all employees in manufacturing. Meet production goals, implement process and technology improvements and support R&D and Sales in product improvements. Makes recommendation for staffing, equipment logistics, technical support and work methods.

 

II. Essential Job Functions

· Interviewing, selecting, and training employees.

· Appraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employees.

· Determining work techniques, planning the work, apportioning work among employees.

· Determining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials needed.

· Responsible for directing the work activities of employees on scheduled shift, including lab personnel.

· Must be able to handle a flexible schedule.

· Ensure departments operate effectively.

· Work to build and enhance a team approach in addressing and accomplishing departmental goals.

· Oversee the training of all departmental personnel to assure job knowledge, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), equipment operation, and general safety awareness.

· Ensure the complete safety of the department, including those individuals working in and around the area (i.e. visitors, contractors)

· Responsible for achieving standards of quality for every order processed through the department and to strive for continuous improvement and sustained levels of excellence for the internal as well as external customers.

· Monitor production for the purpose of achieving and maintaining the lowest possible scrap rates.

· Work to ensure cleanliness of department areas for the purpose of establishing an atmosphere of pride and accomplishment.

· Delegates appropriate authority/responsibility and hold employees accountable for performance. Insures that duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

· Providing for safety and security of the workplace.

III. Other Job Duties

· Other job duties as assigned.

IV. Education/Experience/Skills Required

· Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related disciplines is preferred or equivalent experience.

· At least five (3) years’ experience in operations management, preferable in the Aerospace or the Advance Composite industry.

· Demonstrated organizational, planning, management and progressive leadership skills.

· Proficiency in computer software application (MS Office).

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

V. Physical Requirements

· Job requires lifting of product/supplies ranging from minimal to 40 pounds on occasional basis, and may periodically require it throughout a production shift.

· Individual will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and crouching.

· Must be able to wear a respirator and other safety equipment as required.

VI. Training Requirements

· Hazard Communication Training

· Chemical Handling/Basic RCRA-Initial and annual update

· Respirator-Annual re-fit test
