Job Description: Overnight Maintenance Mechanic in Plant City, Florida
Position Overview: As a Maintenance Mechanic in Plant City, Florida, your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks on a variety of machinery and equipment. You will be part of a team that ensures the smooth operation and optimal functioning of various systems within an industrial or commercial facility. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Schedule:
A) Day shift 6am to 6:30pm
B) Night shift 6pm to 6:30am
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations. This may involve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and longevity. Perform regular inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify equipment malfunctions, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions. Utilize diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical expertise to identify and resolve mechanical problems.
Equipment Installation and Upgrades: Assist in the installation, setup, and testing of new equipment or machinery. Collaborate with other team members or contractors to ensure proper integration and functionality.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Documentation and Reporting: Document maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and repairs performed. Provide regular reports on equipment status, maintenance schedules, and any recurring issues.
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other maintenance team members, supervisors, and production personnel to schedule maintenance activities and address equipment-related concerns. Communicate effectively to report progress, issues, and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency. Propose and implement process enhancements or equipment upgrades to optimize operations.
Responsible for maintaining the following items:
Boilers
Ammonia systems
Air compressors
Cooling towers
Waste water
RO Systems
Cooling Tunnel Chemistry
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3 plus years previous food production line maintenance experience required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLCs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
