CNC Machinist Operator

CNC Programmer -

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Operator or programmer to create CNC programs for a variety of production and prototype parts. The ideal person should know CNC mill or lathe machining processes, fixturing, CNC cutting tools, and CAD/CAM software (Solidworks /Mastercam).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate CNC lathe or mill
2. Create and edit CNC programs and setup sheets for processing parts on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
3. Design project fixturing and plan cutting tool sequence to process parts efficiently
4. Support setup and operator machinist to produce quality parts.
5. Provide feedback to design engineers to produce manufacturable designs and drawings.
6. Research new technology in CNC cutting tools, machining fixtures, and effective operation sequences to reduce part costs and cycle times.
7. Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company

Qualifications:

1. Experience in vertical and horizontal CNC machine tool programming and setup
2. Understanding of G code editing and troubleshooting. Creating and editing macros is a plus
3. Strong technical knowledge of current CNC machining cutting tools and calculating feeds and speeds
4. Ability to interpret engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
5. Experience with the machining of castings
6. Experience using SolidWorks / Mastercam
7. Programming experience using a coordinate measurement Machine (CMM) is a plus
8. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
9. Competent using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word,)
