Job Description
We are seeking an Accounting Manager! You will be responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of your assigned branch office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Train and support accounting staff by monitoring and approving daily accounting functions (AR, AP, Job legal and compliance, and others as required) in accordance with legislation, contract terms, accounting principles, and company procedures
· Work on dynamic budgeting/forecasting models to enhance cashflow, job profitability
· Ensure that financial information, analysis, and reporting are accurate, timely, reliable, and relevant to assist the controller, management, and executive Team in effectively performing their responsibilities
· Collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure service finances are booked monthly in a timely manner
· Responsible for month-end activities such as miscellaneous journal entries, project job costing, job profitability analysis, construction-related account reconciliations, and supporting Operations with special analysis for the projects.
· Provides monthly assistance to Operations in the preparation of monthly billings
· Monitors cash flow and escalates to Operations on tracking A/R and when the projects are paid.
· Backup for the senior accountant’s scope of work
· Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure all necessary waivers and forms are provided and reviewed
· Support A/R. Includes investigation of variances, coordinating compliance documents, and ensuring project billings and payments are issued in an accurate and timely fashion. If escalation, it includes researching and resolving billing and/or payment discrepancies.
· Assist with annual budget preparation
· Ensure that all projects are opened and closed according to company/accounting procedures, including the job legal and compliance requirements
· Reconcile approved estimate jobs with Labor Resource plan and approved time tracking
· Assists with onboarding new contractors to ensure billing requirement understanding and compliance.
· Eager to provide improvements/automate the accounting and reporting process
· Perform all other tasks within job requirements as assigned by the supervisor to this position
