Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician will perform many pharmacy-related functions in our Closed-Door Pharmacy under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform administrative functions as required per job duties. Monday - Friday day shift. No late nights, no holiday or weekends. Saturday morning could be required for inventory or special projects. ***Mail order, high volume and specialty pharmacy experience is a plus!
Essential Functions:
• Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
• Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
• Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
• Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
• Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
• Under direction of the pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or proper disposal per regulatory guidelines.
• Performs general clerical duties for the department.
• Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position; 40-hour minimum, with the expectation to maintain a regular work schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience:
• CPhT Certified
• State licensing, as required.
• One or more years’ experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED certificate
