Summary

As we embark on a journey of growth through acquisitions and organic expansion, we need a Senior Accountant with strong audit qualifications and technical accounting abilities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.


As a Senior Accountant at GarageCo, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing month-end close processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams on financial analyses, managing accounts payable functions, and playing a key role in ERP system migrations. By leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to the integrity and transparency of our financial operations.


Duties

· Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and oversee month-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements.

· Develop and refine workpapers to adhere to GAAP standards, providing a foundation for accurate financial reporting.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analyses and special projects, contributing valuable financial insights.

· Manage and oversee the accounts payable function of one of our business units, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.

· Play a key role in the migration to a new ERP system, overseeing data migration and system implementation.

· Prepare schedules and documentation for the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.

· Implement audit recommendations and enhance internal controls to improve audit readiness and efficiency.


Qualifications

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

· CPA or similar professional designation (preferred)

· Previous experience in public accounting, with a focus on audit preparation and participation

· Experience in a service-based industry, with an understanding of service revenue recognition and related accounting practices (preferred)


Skills

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks

· Familiarity with inventory management principles and experience in inventory accounting


Work Conditions

· Climate controlled, office environment
