Medical Charge Entry Specialist

Location: Onsite in Norfolk, VA 

Experience Level: Expert

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $19-22 per hour

Hours: M-F 8:30-5:00pm

A Day in the Role:

-Collects patient documentation and charts for claim submission.

-Updates and maintains patient billing data and ensures documents are current.

-Contacts clinical staff for clarification on procedures or diagnosis and on missing information.

-Enters and process charges

-Completes data entry of the charges into Practice Management System.

-Completes review of interface transactions and resolution of TES edits.

-Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records and collections.

-Other duties as requested or assigned. May perform payment responsibilities.
