Must Haves:

1) Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and Dietetics if completion date is prior to January 2024
  • Master’s degree required to sit for RD exam if completion date is January 2024 or later

2) Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in diet education (Clinical experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Comfortable with order writing privileges for enteral (tube feedings) and parenteral nutrition (nutrients delivered directly into the bloodstream through infusion), diet orders, and supplements within scope of practice

3) Licenses, Certifications, & Registrations:

  • Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed Nutritionist within the state of Alabama

 

Day to Day:

Insight Global Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to support the patient population at an acute care facility in Alabama. The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for supporting the nutritional needs of both inpatient and outpatient populations - including, but not limited to performing the following duties:

  • Conducting nutritional assessments for those in inpatient care, outpatient referrals, cancer patients, and rehab patients in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Development and implementation of personalized nutrition intervention plans based on assessments and evidence-based standards and providing individuals and groups with education and nutritional counseling.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or rounds when necessary.
  • Electronic charting, the Nutrition Care Process, and writing PES statements for appropriate care plan documentation.
  • Communicating and collaborating with food service staff to ensure adherence to diet prescriptions.
  • Ensuring proper use of patients’ protected health information.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.​
