School Social Worker - Hiram, ME

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team for the school year in Hiram, ME. The School Social Worker will play a crucial role in supporting the social and emotional well-being of students in the middle school, encompassing grades 4th through 8th. This is an onsite position with a caseload of approximately 25 students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students in the designated middle school grades.
• Conduct assessments to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to develop and implement intervention strategies.
• Support students in developing coping skills, conflict resolution, and positive interpersonal relationships.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on the social-emotional needs of students.
• Address issues such as bullying, truancy, and school violence through prevention programs and interventions.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• State licensure as a School Social Worker in Maine.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school social work.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and community resources.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week.
• Onsite presence required.

Caseload:

• Middle School (4th - 8th grade).
• Approximately 25 students.
