We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Accounting Lead to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations within our organization. This role is integral to ensuring the financial health of our company and requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and cost accounting. Familiarity with Cost Point Accounting System is a plus.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Accounting Lead, your duties will include but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and record-keeping.
2. Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
3. Conducting regular audits and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
4. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
5. Managing job codes and cost reports.
6. Analyzing costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
7. Collaborating with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
8. Advising on the improvement of financial performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in marketing programs, new hires, new products, and new markets.
9. Supporting budget and forecasting activities.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree or CPA certification will be considered an advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Proficiency in accounting software, with a preference for those familiar with the Cost Point Accounting System.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong proficiency in creating and interpreting financial reports and statements.
6. Experience with cost accounting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
