Objectives of this role:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the VP, Editorial Director, oversees all full-time and freelance bilingual editors in the Multicultural team, including serving as a training supervisor, modeling brand editing responsibilities, reviewing timesheets, and holding team check-ins
- Liaises with Multicultural team agency departments to ensure editorial process, staffing, and workflow align with client needs
- Ensures language consistency and adherence to brand style and guidelines across the Multicultural team's brand portfolios
- Copyedits/proofreads advertising, educational, training, and consumer manuscripts, layouts, and digital assignments in both English and Spanish
- Fact-checks annotations to claims and data to ensure accuracy in preparation for client med-reg review
- Translates and transcreates English copy into Spanish, ensuring neutral Spanish across Spanish-speaking target populations
- Ensures in-house Spanish translations and transcreations are accurate and ready for Certificate of Translations (COTs)
- Reads for correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling; language and style consistency; accuracy; sense/clarity; required copy
- Ensures relevant standards (eg, client/brand, AMA, FDA) are met
- Knowledgeable of and remains current on FDA guidelines
- Creates and maintains editorial style guides for our portfolio of brands
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent English and Spanish writing proficiency and knowledge of grammatical rules in both languages
- Ability to translate from English to Spanish and vice versa
- A minimum of 3 years of previous agency editorial experience; management or supervisory experience a plus
- Ability to ensure documents conform to accepted written language rules
- Knowledge ofAMA Manual of Style
- Knowledge of FDA guidelinesis a plus
- Pharmaceutical agency experience
