Job Summary:
Villa Maria Health & Rehab Center in Hurley is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee our financial operations. This is a full-time, individual contributor role that will focus on maintaining accurate and timely financial records, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to improve financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, and be able to work efficiently and collaborate with other team members.

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 per year, paid biweekly. In addition, the chosen candidate will be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Review and analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and areas for improvement
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Coordinate and assist with the annual budgeting process
- Ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards and regulations
- Monitor cash flow and make recommendations for cash management strategies
- Participate in financial audits and prepare necessary documentation
- Oversee payroll and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks is preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
