Position Overview

Our Lifeguards are an important part of our Guest Services Team, and are responsible for ensuring we deliver an amazing guest experience at every interaction. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring waterfront and aquatic facilities, ensuring safety, performing cleaning and maintenance duties, and being a first responder in the event of an emergency. If you are 15 or older we will provide free Lifeguard Certification Training upon hire.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • As with all positions on our team, live Team Outsider’s values, helping to create extraordinary experiences for our guests while performing the responsibilities of your position.
  • Greet all guests with a smile and a positive attitude.
  • Supervise swimming activities and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Stay alert, observing swimmers, improper guest behavior and potential danger.
  • Warn swimmers of potential danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
  • Administer first aid in the event of injury.
  • Rescue swimmers in distress or at risk of drowning.
  • Administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  • Evaluate conditions for safety and initiate aquatics emergency action plan as required.
  • Inspect the water, related equipment and waterfront facilities to ensure that they are safe and usable.
  • Assist in cleaning the waterfront and related facilities and equipment.
  • Assists with water testing and recording results.
  • You will be entrusted with the safety of our guests and their families while also performing the highest levels of hospitality.
  • You will facilitate the safest possible environment while creating memories that last a lifetime.
  • Always maintain a neat and well groomed appearance, wearing appropriate team attire and name tag.

Experience & Requirements

  • A passion for customer service and the outdoors
  • Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at waterfront and aquatics facilities to identify potential dangers or hazards.
  • Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions.
  • Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services.
  • Ability to adjust programs as necessary to ensure the safety of the visitors and other staff.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to understand and speak the English language fluently.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be a strong swimmer.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly, and communicate comprehensively.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Requires the use of hands and fingers to feel and handle objects.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors and in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of moving safely over uneven or wet terrain.
