Job Description

The Sr. Human Resource Generalist will work with the HR Team to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including programs, hiring, compliance, recruiting, administering pay, benefits, leave of absences, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a single point of contact for HR related activities for employees
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and engagement; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Facilitates the hiring process of qualified job applicants for open positions including job board management, recruiting, onboarding, collaborating with departmental managers of knowledge, skills and competencies required for openings
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance of certifications, licenses, training, education, etc.
  • Oversees background checks and employee screens.
  • Assists with new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Helps in the management of annual compliance and audits, to include EEO-01, URS Retirement and OSHA reporting.
  • Oversees Health Benefits open enrollment, new hire enrollment and changes.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, often dealing with complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Act as backup to the HR Director in their absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • One of the following combination of experience and/or education/certification:
    • 10 years Human Resources Experience
    • 5 Years HR experience and SPHR-CP/SCP or SHRM-CP/SCP
    • Bachelors Degree in HR or related field with 3 years experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
