Job Description

A leading manufacturer of plastic products for various industries is looking for a skilled and experienced process technician to help optimize their production processes.

As a process technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the machines and equipment that produce our plastic products. You will also monitor the quality and quantity of the products, troubleshoot any issues, and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, injection molding, or a related field. You should also have excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain the machines and equipment that produce plastic products
  • Monitor and adjust the machine parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and speed, to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform quality checks on the products and record the data
  • Identify and report any defects, malfunctions, or deviations from the specifications
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues with the machines and equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the machines and equipment
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the production processes, such as reducing waste, increasing output, or enhancing quality
  • Follow the standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient production

Requirements:

  • Technical experience with plastic injection molding required, along with hands-on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting skills
  • Associate’s degree or certificate in mechanical engineering, industrial automation, or a related field. Bachelors or Associates in Plastics Engineering preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as a process technician, die setter or a similar role in a manufacturing or production setting
  • Knowledge and experience with injection molding plastic processing machines and equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with quality control methods and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges

Position:

  • Full-time employee
