Substitute Teacher at New Boces

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our team at N.E.W. Boces As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity in education and support for our students with special needs in the absence of regular teachers. You will provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, facilitate lessons according to individualized education plans (IEPs), and promote the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student.

We are looking for someone to join our team for ESY and potentially long term on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement lesson plans and activities tailored to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students with special needs.
2. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes acceptance, respect, and understanding.
3. Provide one-on-one assistance and support to students with various disabilities, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities.
4. Adapt teaching strategies and instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and sensory needs.
5. Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.
6. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning, following school policies and procedures.
7. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
8. Follow IEPs and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for individual students, making necessary modifications and accommodations as needed.
9. Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods, ensuring their safety and engagement in appropriate activities.
10. Complete required documentation, such as attendance records, incident reports, and progress notes, accurately and in a timely manner.

**Requirements:

Must have a valid Substitute Teaching Certification

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
