SUMMARY
Using complex drawings and blueprints, maintain existing production tooling, machine repair parts for equipment, and create custom tooling and prototypes for special projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate conventional industrial machine tool equipment such as knee mills, lathes, O.D. and surface grinders to fabricate and repair steel tooling, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures and machine parts.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications and tolerances.
- Conduct test runs with completed parts to ensure proper fit and function.
- Maintain build and modification records for new and repaired parts.
- Other tasks as assigned that are within the scope of this position.

- Some irregular work hours, shifts and overtime.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Non-air conditioned manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, grime, dust, smoke and noise.
- Positions during the day include, but are not limited to long periods of standing, bending, stretching, leaning, stooping and twisting.
- Motions include, but are not limited to, walking, pushing, pulling, gripping, lifting, typing, writing and carrying of objects up to 100 lbs.
- Safety equipment worn as needed is protective clothing, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, face shields and respirators.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Post-high school technical training and 2 - 5 years of machining experience, or
- Significant industrial on-the-job experience in lieu of technical training.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to understand and follow instructions given in English.
- Able to earn forklift driving certification.
- Basic math and computer skills.
