Underground Utility Pipelayer

Pipe Layer is to lay and join concrete, plastic, or cast-iron pipe for drains, sewers, and water mains. This includes rigging pipe for hoisting, setting pipe to grade and affixing the pipe joint. Prepare and grade the trenches either manually or by communicating with onsite equipment operators. The Pipe Layer position requires manual labor as well as assisting other trades to the extent necessary with hands-on work.

All duties associated with laying pipe, working with other members of the construction crew to successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner to meet or exceed customer expectations. Position report to Pipe Crew Foreman

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Working cooperatively with the crew to accomplish tasks;
• Maintaining tools, cords and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and are safe for use;
• Maintaining the work area(s) in a clean and orderly manner on a continuous basis;
• Consistently reporting for work on time and in appropriate attire;
• Escorting individuals on assignment projects and running errands as needed;
• Creating lists of materials, supplies, specialty tools and equipment (proactively) that are needed to perform the work;
• Participating in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work that is done by K2 Construction is physically demanding no matter what position you are in. Candidates will need to be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, grasp, speak, communicate and see. Candidate must be able to lift loads of 100 pounds and have dexterity. Candidate will also need to be able to climb up and down a ladder.
