Inventory Supervisor

The Vomela Transportation Group has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Supervisor to join our team.  This position will be responsible for providing supervision and direction to inventory staff and shipping supervisor.  Control raw material inventories and finished goods inventories.  Reviewing/coordinate job closes with Finance.  Function as a technical expert who supervises the daily operations in the inventory department and works with the shipping supervisor to addresses issues as they pertain to trouble shooting, quality control, staff scheduling, training, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

·         Provide daily direction and support to inventory staff regarding inspection, receipt, and storage of both raw and finished goods.

·         Regular review of raw goods inventory thru report management and schedule cycle counts.

·         Regular review of finished goods inventory thru report management, continuous count process and scheduled cycle counts.

·         Maintenance of item costs and inventory levels in Syteline.

·         Maintenance of slow-moving items.

·         Generate and monitor inventory reports.  Distribute as needed.

·         Daily communication with shipping supervisor to ensure staff is appropriately aligned to meet both the daily ship requirements and inventory duties.

·         Communication with manufacturing to ensure finished good items are moved in a timely matter and of required quality to inventory department.

·         Regular communication with Finance regarding job closes and inventory costs.

·         Required communication with CSR manager and sales concerning stocking agreements and slow moving or disposal of obsolete inventory.

Requirements

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.

·         Minimum of three years working in inventory.

·         Experience with computerized inventory systems required.

·         Previous experiencing supervising or leading a team.

·         Forklift operator certification preferred.

·         Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.

·         Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.

·         Proficient keyboarding skills.

·         Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

·         Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.

·         Ability to perform basic math calculations.
