Restaurant Host Hostess

87 Sussex, an upbeat and high-end restaurant in Jersey City, is looking for a part time host/hostess. Dinner shifts are currently available and weekend brunch shifts will become available in May. This host/hostess will be responsible for:

- Assisting the rest of the front of house staff with setting up the dining room for service

- Reaching out to guests to confirm reservations, answering the phone, and responding to voicemails

- Setting the guest seating chart in our reservation software OpenTable 

- Greeting and seating guests throughout service in accordance with an agreed-up strategy with management

- Assisting with coat check

- Updating OpenTable throughout service as guests arrive, are seated, and complete their meal

- Maintaining customer information and notes in OpenTable

- Keeping menus and other items at the hostess stand clean and organized
