Job Description
Purpose
The Warehouse Clerk will support both sides of the shipping and receiving function. On the shipping side, they will package items, print labels, weigh packages and determine appropriate postage. As receiving clerks, they will be responsible for comparing bills of lading against actual merchandise received, inspecting for damaged goods, and, once approved, distributing merchandise to the correct departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Accurately document all receivables from their multiple sources (FedEx, UPS, USPS, Pine Drivers, Customer Drop Off, and other sources)
- Promptly communicate with customers and supervisor for any discrepancies (i.e. Missing items, damages, unexpected returns, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area at all times
- Attention to detail is critical
- Enter all received items into ERP System (i.e. Infor M3)
- Deliveries
- Act as an active back up to other warehouse personnel, when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, and Core Competencies
- Excellent Communication Skills- Written, Verbal, Interpersonal, and Phone
- Ability to think analytically, with a focus on problem troubleshooting
- A flexible and strong team player that can work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic Computer Literacy with Microsoft Office
Education/Experience
High School Diploma/GED or Higher; 1 to 2 years of Customer Service Experience preferred
Environment
- This is a non-sensitive position. An employee will be in a warehouse environment. An employee will bend, walk, stand, and may sit for long periods of time.
